Setting up the NEXUM VOCE+ is remarkably simple. In just a few steps, you can start broadcasting Auracast™ audio to unlimited listeners. This guide walks you through everything from unboxing to your first broadcast.
What’s in the Box
- 1x NEXUM VOCE+ Transmitter
- 1x USB-C Cable
- 1x 3.5mm Audio Cable
- 1x Quick Start Guide
Step 1: Choose Your Audio Source
VOCE+ works with virtually any device that has a USB-C or 3.5mm audio output. Common sources include:
- Laptop or Desktop PC/Mac — via USB-C (also supports USB audio)
- Smartphone or Tablet — via USB-C or 3.5mm
- TV or Monitor — via 3.5mm headphone jack
- Gaming Console — via USB-C
- Microphone or Mixer — via 3.5mm aux input
Step 2: Connect VOCE+
Plug the VOCE+ into your chosen audio source using either the USB-C cable or the 3.5mm audio cable. The device will power on automatically when connected via USB-C. For 3.5mm connections, ensure VOCE+ is charged or powered separately.
Step 3: Select Your Gain Mode
VOCE+ features a physical switch to toggle between two gain modes:
- Normal Mode (0dB): Best for quiet environments, small rooms, close-range listening, or recording scenarios
- Boost Mode (+3dB): Best for larger rooms, noisy environments, or listeners with hearing needs who require extra amplification
Choose the mode that matches your environment. You can switch between modes at any time without interrupting the broadcast.
Step 4: Start Broadcasting
Once connected and powered on, VOCE+ will automatically begin broadcasting via Auracast™. The LED indicator will show the current status. Any Auracast™-compatible receiver within range (up to 30 meters) can now tune in to your broadcast.
Step 5: Connect Your Listeners
Listeners using Auracast™-compatible earbuds (like NEXUM AERO) or hearing aids simply need to:
- Open their device’s Bluetooth settings or companion app
- Scan for available Auracast™ broadcasts
- Select the VOCE+ broadcast to connect
No pairing is needed. Listeners can join and leave the broadcast freely, just like tuning into a radio station.
Using the Built-in Microphone
VOCE+ includes a high-performance built-in microphone. To use it for voice broadcasting (great for tour guides, teachers, or presenters), simply speak near the device without connecting to an external audio source. VOCE+ will broadcast your voice directly to all connected listeners.
For higher quality audio capture, connect an external microphone via the 3.5mm input.
Tips for Best Performance
- Line of Sight: For maximum range, keep VOCE+ in a clear line of sight with receivers
- Placement: Position VOCE+ at chest or table height for optimal voice broadcasting
- Boost Mode for Large Spaces: Always switch to Boost Mode (+3dB) when broadcasting in lecture halls, conference rooms, or outdoor spaces
- Firmware Updates: Keep VOCE+ updated for the latest performance improvements
Troubleshooting
- No audio? Check that your audio source is outputting sound and the cable connection is secure
- Listeners can’t find the broadcast? Ensure they are within 30 meters and their device supports Auracast™ or LE Audio
- Audio quality issues? Try switching between Normal and Boost modes, or reposition VOCE+ closer to listeners
